Forestt
„Kulturraum Nahost“: FORESTT

Alan Watts, the great British philosopher who interpreted and popularised Eastern
philosophy for a Western audience, said in one of his lectures: “If you go off into a far,
far forest and keep very quiet, you’ll come to understand that you’re connected with
Everything”. That’s how it is in the forest, it contains everything. It’s nature in all its glory.
It’s rough, arrogant, humble, green and in pleasant bloom in the day, and morbidly
terrifying at night. It’s a greenhouse for the food chain, it’s a place of great synergy. It’s
a place in which to die and to be reborn.
Orka, FORESTT’s lead singer, went through all the experiences the forest has to offer.
She didn’t need to be in a real forest to experience a breakup from a previous life,
arriving at a new life, giving birth to a child, a new human-being in this new life. But
standing in front of the forest gates, facing its opportunities and dangers, she chose the
forest in daylight – nature, the new life.
FORESTT’s music draws its inspiration from sixties-psychedelic-folk groups, a hint of
gypsy, British folk, and Latin American music. The darkness that exists in FORESTT’s
music corresponds to dark-folk groups such as Death In June. With tribal repetition,
leaps and bounds, reminiscent of shamanic rituals, FORESTT seek to awaken the full
glory of the forest. The hidden and visible Libido, and the living spirit of the wounded wolf
that exists in the soul of every listener who sings along with them in their concerts.
After 4 singles that received airplay in the largest radio stations in Israel and Germany,
FORESTT is launching a masterpiece album.
